I also downloaded two bits of 'extra content' from the Magix store, one was an MPEG2 update which was free, and the other was a full MPEG4 update which cost £3.99. I have also used VMC to change the screengrabbed video into a variety of other formats before loading the result into MEP2016, and still no cigar. I have tweaked the import settings to both include and exclude hardware acceleration and the problem remains. I could blame the screengrabbing tool, but it cant be that because the videos it recorded work just fine outside MEP2016. I've recorded a series of mp4 videos of my website with a screengrabbing tool (paid license of Flashback Express v6.10.0.415) because I want to create a demo video, however when I drag the recorded mp4 video file from windows explorer into the timeline in a MEP2016 project where other working videos from other sources already exist (and work fine) the screengrabbed video plays as a black screen.
